IN SEARCH OF THE EDGE

THIS BOOK IS A LOVE LETTER TO EVERYTHING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME.

The book 'In Search of the Edge' began as an investigation into writing magick, a continuation of a way I've been living my life since I was 11 years old. 

This way of living involved actively creatively shaping my life-story as I lived it, as if I was piecing together an epic piece of literature with every choice I made. It is a collaboration with chaos, with the universe as it unfolds, a journey into the visionary sway we do hold in steering our existence.

Later, as I became aware of chaos magick and gonzo journalism, I decided to combine them with my current practices...  to create a reality-altering technique of writing that simultaneously logged and tracked the process of this experimentation. 

​

After noticing that the casual titles I gave each journal often seemingly influenced relevant life-events & experiences to occur... in 2017, I decided to play bigger. I gave my creative autobiography of the next 3 years a title before it had happened, and witnessed how this choice influenced what unfolded in my personal narrative.

What happened was beyond my wildest imaginings, a story of such grandeur and strangeness... The universe's intelligence responded to me, and gave me a multiplicity of deep perspectives of all the things 'the Edge' could be, what it had to teach me, and what I was truly looking for when I gave this section of my life this title... 

​

This book is a woven example of my own practice of journal-craft magick, as well as a documentation of the experience of learning this art-form, of what it is possible to create within a single human life.... of the art we can do with everyday existence, with whatever arrives on our doorsteps.
